Production and final checks
CHECKS ON THE RAW MATERIALS:
The constant characteristics and the quality of our compounds are guaranteed through a series of checks, starting with those carried out on the incoming raw materials. On this purpose precise parameters have been defined, such as the viscosity of the polyurethane, the dispersibility of the powders and their reactivity.
On the polyurethane the viscosity test, carried out according to ISO 289, is to verify that the value falls within the values established in the system. For the CER01 and CER01 ULTRASOFT the raw materials in powder are sieved with vibrating sieves: the characteristics of the mesh are defined in the system.
CHECKS ON THE PRODUCT:
Of each batch a cured specimen for the visual inspection of the surface is produced and the rheometric curve is performed: this to monitor the rubber’s behaviour during the vulcanization. The instrument used is an moving die rheometer compliant with the ISO 6502, ASTM D 6204 and DIN 53 529-3 standard.
Spot checks on the hardness are carried out with an automatic shore A hardness unit. The analysis method used for the hardness test is according to the ISO 868 standard, with shore A measured after 3 seconds. The value taken to establish the suitability of the compound is the average on 5 detected values on the same specimen.
All the instruments, regularly calibrated, are controlled by PC. The reports are held on file for one Year after the individual’s batch production date. The acceptability criteria the customer should expect are stated in the relative instructions which form part of Cergomma Integrated Environmental and Quality Management System and can be requested to the Quality Manager (RQA).
FINAL CHECKS:
The recording of the final inspections covering the size, the thickness, the weight and the packaging’s condition is carried out by affixing the batch number and reporting the signature of the person in charge on the related document.
The number identifying each single batch appears on each package supplied and ensures its traceability.
INTEGRATED QUALITY/ENVIRONMENT SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
Cergomma considers quality, health, environmental protection, compliance with the relevant legal provisions, the reduction of pollution and the continuous improvement of environmental and company performance as the keystone of its business strategy.
Our management goal is achieved through:
– Increase of our quality standards, in terms of:
- greater production efficiency
- better control of the process
- greater competitiveness on the market
- increased customer satisfaction
– Containment and prevention of all forms of pollution related to all environmental compartments (air, water, soil) and continuous improvement of environmental performance through:
- Compliance with the relevant environmental legislation and regulations
- Monitoring and improvement in managing the environmental aspects connected to:
- hazardous materials,
- waste,
- emissions,
- noise,
- emergency situations,
- energy consumption
The Management is committed to improve its performance to prevent or reduce the pollution and the environmental impacts related to its business activities through constant monitoring and continuous search for products, technologies and processes that are less impactful on the environment and less dangerous for the health.
The implementation and maintenance of the System itself represents a significant economic investment for the Company, which translates into added value to the product supplied.
Summery of the quality/environment policy of Cergomma
CERGOMMA undertakes to supply the production of rubber compounds and market chemical products for their application, paying particular attention to compliance with the customer specifications and considering the protection of the environment, compliance with the relevant environmental provisions and the continuous improvement of the corporate performance as key elements of its own business strategy.
For this purpose, a Quality System that complies with UNI EN ISO 9001 and an Environmental Management System that complies with UNI EN ISO 14001 have been implemented, thereby defining the Integrated Quality-Environment Policy, in line with the type of activity, products, and services provided as well as with the size and reality of the company, in order to guarantee continuous organizational, methodological and performance growth.
To this end, a series of measurable objectives are defined for which the Management undertakes to provide all the necessary human and financial resources by optimizing costs, controlling the consumption of energy resources and raw materials, reducing waste, improving the management of the waste produced.
Management System Audits are periodically carried out to verify compliance with the reference standards and to identify suggestions for improvement.
The spread, understanding and implementation of what is established in the Integrated Policy ensure the involvement, training and updating of the staff at all levels, as well as the involvement of the suppliers and companies operating on or on behalf of the company site, making the knowledge available to them to pursue the improvement of environmental performance.
The certification is the result of a voluntary choice. The Company decides to implement it and keep it active to improve its quality and environmental aspects management and constitutes a formal commitment that the Management assumes.
The companies that agree to comply with ISO standards undergo the evaluation of an external certification body that periodically verifies the compliance with the relative standards.
